Clinical characteristics associated with the finding of thyroid cancer originating from hot nodules in patients with hyperthyroidism: a case report and systematic review of the literature

Coexistence between thyroid cancer and hyperthyroidism is rare, most of the nodular lesions from which a malignant tumor documented in this group patients correspond to cold nodules. Justified by increasing number reports literature about tumors diagnosed hot nodules, systematic review was carried out determine possible factors associated with diagnosis nodules hyperthyroidism. The results suggest that clinical toxic goiter, diameter > 10 mm histological type compatible follicular carcinoma, are on their own increase risk making nodule.
